Celebrating Maryland's native bees & flowers!

Fun experiences and learning opportunities for all ages!

* Visit the UM Insect Zoo!

* Walks with native bee expert Sam Droege and colleagues. 

"Ask a Bumble Bee" community-science project.

Tune in to "teff," a small nutritious grain. Learn how it can help start a wildflower meadow.

Native plant walks. Bring your questions about growing native plants.

* Ladybugs, Plus: Patuxent Research Refuge’s Kids’ Discovery Center (KDC) activities and refuge booklet programs.

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day (Día Mundial de las Aves Migratorias)!

* Bird-lovers: Learn how to grow the perfect foods that parent birds need to feed their babies (hint: it's caterpillars!) 

* FREE native plants and seeds from Wild Ones, PG Parks and others.

* Free Arts & Craft activities.

* Native plant sales.

* Book & Nature Shop.

Event will be held rain or shine. Some activities and exhibits will be indoors; others will be outdoors, weather permitting.
